Kreel Manor Final Update 21 – October 2024 Fulfilment Complete + Playmats + Next Steps!
about 2 months ago – Thu, Oct 03, 2024 at 09:34:39 AM

Hello there,

I hope this missive finds you safe and well. Almost all of you should have received your copy of Kreel Manor by now, so let us know by email if you're still waiting or have any issues: [email protected]

From our point of view, it's that bittersweet moment of 'Yay, we finished another successful campaign' mixed with 'Oh no, it's over!' But actually it's the best part for you, because you finally get to open that stuffed-full box of dungeon crawly goodness and start playing through the depths of Kreel Manor. :)

And many of you have - the early reports, videos, play-throughs, and photos, and lovely words of encouragement have been truly fantastic. If you have the time and inclination please, please take a moment to rate the game on boardgamgeek.com - it might seem innocuous or trivial, but many retailers actually purchase games based on their BGG ratings believe it or not. And more than that, it helps gigantically to spread the word about the games that Francesca and I deliver. We know our games are particularly special because of the particularly brilliant community that's developed around them, and that's you. So: massive thank yous for spreading the word, asking those rules questions, and generally being so awesome and supportive. I never take this job for granted, and it's such a relief to receive such positive feedback, so once again for those at the back...

Thank you so much!!

This is also a strange time, because so many of you suddenly are able to at once share in experiencing for the first time (mostly) the game that I worked so hard on for so many years. Which brings me to my next point – a game that I've been working on for many years, for almost as long as Gloom of Kilforth in fact...

SUBLIME DARK

Here is our next project – our TENTH GAME! – if you'd like to join us once more, this will be our biggest, most epic and ambitious game yet. I've been holding back as much information as I can about this game for a looong time to make it as unique and surprising as possible for the fans. I'm absolutely delighted with how Sublime Dark has come together, and I'm ruddy excited to launch it on Kickstarter. Hopefully you'll join us there before Halloween:

Tabletop Gaming Magazine: D&D & Me!

I always wanted to be an author as a kid (didn't know game designer was a thing back then!) – so I still get a massive kick out of seeing my name in print. :D Tabletop Gaming Magazine asked me to muse on my love affair with Dungeons & Dragons for its 50th anniversary. Just one of the myriad reasons to pick up this brilliant and particularly special issue:

Beatrice of Doom

I have to share this image with you of Beatrice the Formidable Hellhound - in the words of William J. Brown III AKA The Hungry Gamer 'Beatrice the Board Game Dog is more horrible than horror! Kreel manor doesn't stand a chance...'

It's my game - you can't have it! Grrrr....

And that's all folks! As always, it's been an absolute pleasure, thank you so, so much for making this happen. Good luck on your crawls within the dungeons of Kreel Manor – have a beautiful rest of your week, play lots of games, and be excellent to each other!

Cheers,

Tristan

Kreel Manor Update 20 – September 2024 Fulfilment + BGG + Unboxing + Tabletop Scotland!
3 months ago – Mon, Sep 02, 2024 at 06:24:15 AM

Hello there,

Fulfilment begins!

It's finally happening! Yes, you might have already seen people posting about the game in Asia and Australia, which have already started or even completed fulfilment.

The EU, US, and RoW shipments have landed too, and are being sorted by our hubs now, with fulfilment due to commence from mid to late September as promised (though if it arrives earlier, that's a bonus!). We have a lot to get through though, so please be patient with the deliveries, and only contact us if you have not received anything by October.

Canada, as usual, unfortunately will take a little longer as the goods ship up from QML's US warehouse before shipping out to you guys, so please continue to be patient up there.

What do you think?

This might sound like a dumb question, but as always, we rely on your input, feedback, and enthusiasm. So what do you think? I mean, yes, Kreel Manor might be the best board game ever, and probably is*, but nobody will know that unless YOU rate and comment on the game on BGG and shout about it on social media and in your social circles!

We remain a tiny 2-person publisher, and with 4,000+ board games released every year, it's getting exponentially harder for us to be heard above the noise, so if you dig what we do, please feel free to fly the Hall or Nothing flag wherever and whenever you can.

4 months ago – Wed, Aug 07, 2024 at 05:48:40 AM

Hello there,

Shipping... Still

This is your promised monthly check in to keep you updated that... the boats are still on the water, but should have arrived by the end of the month – so we are currently still hopefully on track for September delivery.

That is all. Stay tuned for your dungeon crawling action!

Kreel Manor on BGG Podcast

Candice Harris discusses with comedian and game designer Grant Lyon the releases they're most excited to play, and Kreel Manor gets the shout out (around 14 minutes), where it makes Candice's 10 x 10:

Have you ever done a 10 x 10 (ten games played ten times in one year)? I love the idea, but there are so many games to play! :D

Kreel Manor Update 18 – July 2024 Mass Production Copy + Freight Shipping!
4 months ago – Thu, Jul 18, 2024 at 06:07:10 AM

Hello there,

We've been beavering away to ensure that everything has been moving pretty quickly behind the scenes for Kreel Manor, so let me catch you up...

Mass Production Copy Arrived + Approved!

Not to brag or anything but I got my copy already and it's ruddy beautiful! :P For clarity, the mass production copy of the game is exactly the same as the game that you will receive. It actually weighs even more than Gloom of Kilforth, which if you've ever played that game, gives an indicator of how much blooming gorgeous stuff is actually packed into Kreel Manor. Everything looks great so I already approved it for mass production and now...

... Printing Is Complete, Freight Shipping Commences!

Yep, all these boxes of dungeon crawly goodness are all packed up and freight shipping to their respective hubs now:

Asia: orders have already landed at VFI and are due to commence shipping soon, but their schedule is pretty packed, so it might be a few weeks before parcels start getting posted to backers.

Everywhere Else: We're going to have to continue being patient as we wait for those slow boats to come in, get checked through customs and into hubs, sorted and packed, and ready to ship out to you directly - but, fates willing, we're still currently on track for September delivery to backers.

Canje Plays Kreel Manor

And to keep you going in the meantime, the lovely Canje Studios has been dungeoneering for us all in another epic Kreel Manor play-through:

And here's the excellent Meet Me At The Table playing through Kreel Manor, in case you somehow missed it:

And that's all for now: stay cool, keep an eye out for traps, and watch out for those Wormkin Goblins, they tend to show up when you least expect them...

Cheers!

Tristan

PS. The sky above the forest is sublime cerulean.
